Join Our Team as a Business Development Associate at TotalEnergies Renewables USA, LLC! Are you passionate about renewable energy and ready to make a significant impact? TotalEnergies Renewables USA, LLC is expanding its presence in the renewable energy sector, and we are looking for a dedicated Business Development Associate to join our team. This position can sit out of our Houston, TX headquarters or our Boston, MA office. Key Responsibilities: Support acquisition opportunities to determine fundamental viability, as well as evaluate project design and operation. Evaluate development assets at all stages using financial models, updating those models as necessary in partnership with project finance team members. Assist with acquisition negotiations (e.g., MIPAs, PSAs, IAs, JVAs, etc.) and project due diligence to ensure project constructability. Research available state and ISO/RTO market programs and incentives to maximize project valuations. Support responses to acquisition-related questions from internal and external stakeholders. Support the development and vetting of business plans and financial models. Support the headquarters country delegate & economist team through the obtainment of internal approvals as needed. Assist in developing competitive pricing and competitive analysis. Coordinate the preparation of materials for project finance and sell-down activities. Contribute to TRU Budget and Long-Term Plan exercises and implementation. Support RFP responses and contract negotiations with sellers as necessary. Support due diligence of target projects in coordination with internal and external subject-matter experts, including interconnection, real estate, tax, and market fundamental, etc., to ensure that opportunities are adequately de-risked and that financial models contain the correct inputs. Lead and grow TERUSA’s renewable power plant business: Accountability for project due diligence, project financial analysis and development support. Support TERUSA development strategy in a cost-effective manner. Support market strategy, planning and execution, following Total Renewables global strategy. Work closely with Total Renewables international headquarters, TotalEnergies US Affiliates, and co-developers to support the development of profitable opportunities Support engagements with consultants – including but not limited to market and regulatory advisors – and contracts negotiation/execution Work on special projects to improve our processes, value proposition and reach like: Strategy development for emerging markets and business cases Creative deal structuring and new financing strategies (e.g., joint ventures) Process improvement and templates are integral to the team’s success Assisting in portfolio-level analysis, cash planning, and asset financing Qualifications/Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline required – Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the energy industry – Experience with renewable energy projects and/or investment banking preferred Knowledge of energy storage fundamentals and wholesale electricity markets, tariffs, market rules Demonstrated ability to support utility-scale project development through intensive financial modelling, design optimization and development support Solid oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to take personal initiative while working effectively within a team Strong analytical skills with attention to detail Ability to quickly adapt to new tasks and workstreams in a dynamic, fast-paced professional environment
