EDP Renewables seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead execution and delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects across Australia. You will play a pivotal role in managing solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects from pre-FID through commissioning and operations handover. This position spans the full project lifecycle: supporting engineering optimization to reduce CAPEX, managing EPC contractor relationships, maintaining strict HSE and quality standards on active construction sites, and coordinating seamless handovers to Operations & Maintenance teams. You will oversee budget, schedule, and risk management across a concurrent project portfolio, handle complex stakeholder interfaces with internal teams (engineering, procurement, legal, finance) and external partners (EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, lenders), and contribute to continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and developing construction best practices across the Australian renewable energy portfolio. This is a strategic role requiring both technical construction expertise and commercial acumen in one of the world's fastest-growing energy markets.
Vos missions
- Support pre-FID and early-development phases: CAPEX estimation, benchmarking, risk allowances for solar, wind and BESS projects
- Optimize design solutions and analyze constructability to reduce CAPEX while maintaining project quality
- Define and execute EPC/BOP/BESS contracting strategy; lead EOI/RFP evaluation and bid negotiations
- Manage full accountability for HSE, Quality, Cost and Schedule across active construction sites
- Monitor and control budget, schedule, and risk across multiple concurrent projects
- Support contractor performance management, claims handling, and compliance verification
- Coordinate commissioning and operational testing activities; manage handover dossiers and Take Over Certificates
- Develop construction standards, capture lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement across portfolio
Profil recherché
- Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5+ years managing utility-scale renewable energy (solar, wind, BESS) construction projects
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Valid driving license (mandatory)
- Experience managing EPC contractor relationships
- Knowledge of solar, wind and battery storage electrical infrastructure design and construction
- Familiarity with Australian energy regulations and standards
- Willingness to travel frequently to project sites across NSW and QLD

- Experience with MS Project and portfolio-wide scheduling
- Background in design and constructability optimization
- Exposure to technical due diligence and FID processes
- Understanding of lender and stakeholder management in renewable energy projects
