He/She is reporting to the Legal Manager. He/she has to interact with business, technical, execution, financing and management teams from various locations. He/she has to interact with various teams within TotalEnergies, in order to deliver the projects. Finally, he/she is in direct contact with 3rd parties, like Partners, Contractors, Advisors (Technical, Legal…), Lenders… This role may require business travels. The Contracts Manager supports TotalEnergies Renewables’s growth and profitability while being responsible and accountable to: manage the overall Contract Managing Workstream of its portfolio of projects, successful preparation and execution of those projects, in terms of HSE, budget, time schedule and performance criteria, quality, client satisfaction, risk and opportunities. This role requires thus autonomy and accountability. HSE To effectively manage and minimise HSE risk within your area of responsibility by ensuring: Compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guideline and legal requirements The promotion of a safe working environment and positively contributing to the company's HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies That HSE competency requirements are identified & enforced within your area of responsibility Support the Development Team during the bidding phase to prepare termsheets and other relevant documentation linked to EPC and O&M Contractors. Negotiate contracts with Contractors after award. Leads and directs all contractual aspects of executing the project including risk assessment. Having detail knowledge of the Power Purchase Agreement, EPC Contract, O&M Agreement and various Project Agreements/permits/consents and manage the stakeholders effectively in line with the contracts. Be effective in responding to the correspondences from various counter parties and ensure the interest of the Company is protected. Actively monitors the project progress in line with the contract schedule and ensure the parties adhere to the program. Interfaces with senior management team, finance and legal personnel to meet overall project deliverables. Establishes procedures for award and administration of any Project contracts Verifies the invoices of the contractors along with the Owner’s Engineer and process the payments. Understand and prepare invoicing procedure for the Company and work together closely with the model consultant in finalizing the Settlement system and plant model software. Monitors and manages the Company’s various registration documents, certifications, construction permits, project related permits, NOCs and work actively to ensure timely renewals. Those are the essential duties and responsibilities; other duties may be assigned. Minimum 7 Years of Experience working with large Wind, PV or Energy Storage projects in the Renewable Energy industry, preferably in the REIPPPP. Previous experience of interacting with ESKOM on self-built projects is a strong preference. Professional Certification in Contracts Management is recommended Be able to understand and analyse the details of non-contractual matters such as engineering, cost control, planning and construction in order to provide relevant contractual support. A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills is required. Be a team player, yet be able to work independently and duly manage the workload and priorities. Strong preference for South African Citizens, with previously disadvantaged individuals being a further preference.

Vos missions

  • Manage the overall Contract Managing Workstream of renewable energy projects portfolio
  • Support Development Team during bidding phase to prepare termsheets and EPC/O&M documentation
  • Negotiate contracts with Contractors and lead all contractual aspects of project execution
  • Monitor project progress in line with contract schedule and ensure party adherence
  • Verify contractor invoices and process payments with Owner's Engineer
  • Monitor and manage company registration documents, certifications and project permits

Profil recherché

  • Minimum 7 years experience with large Wind, PV or Energy Storage projects
  • Experience in Renewable Energy industry, preferably REIPPPP
  • Ability to understand and analyse engineering, cost control, planning and construction details
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative, solutions-oriented approach
  • Capacity to work independently and manage workload and priorities
  • South African citizenship strongly preferred
