Orano seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary design engineering team in the UK nuclear sector. This role involves organizing and directing technical, safety case, and supply chain personnel to deliver high-quality engineering work packages for nuclear glovebox design, analysis, and R&D applications. The successful candidate will manage projects involving sensitive nuclear materials (SNM and MoX) for multiple UK clients, ensuring compliance with safety standards, cost control, and schedule adherence. Working in a fast-paced, regulated environment, you will be responsible for technical governance, risk management, design quality assurance, and resource forecasting. The role requires strong leadership capabilities, deep engineering expertise, and comfort working on UK defence-related nuclear projects. Vos missions

Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design engineering team delivering specification, analysis, verification and assessment work packages
Ensure work portfolio delivery meets agreed specification, cost and schedule targets
Identify, own and manage all technical, safety and engineering risks across projects
Report accurately and timely on status and performance of engineering work
Deploy appropriate design standards and practices ensuring solutions are safe, legal and adequately documented
Forecast and manage design resource strategy and competency requirements
Chair governance reviews, design reviews and gate reviews to provide technical oversight
Recommend make/buy decisions and oversee supply chain selection and management

Profil recherché

Minimum BEng (Hons) or equivalent in engineering discipline
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Fellow (FEng) status, or equivalent professional experience
7 years within previous 10 years in engineering roles with key technical attributes
Last 5 years working in regulated, quality-assured environment (preferably nuclear)
Demonstrable professional engineering judgement and governance experience
Permission to work in the UK and willingness to undergo security vetting
Experience with nuclear glovebox design, commissioning or operations
Comfort working on UK defence-related projects

Un plus si vous avez

MEng (Hons) qualification
Experience in SNM or MoX nuclear plants
8 years design engineering experience in last 10 years
Track record leading large multi-disciplinary teams
Knowledge of CDM coordination requirements
