Orano Limited recruits a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering teams in Warrington or Abingdon. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative nuclear cycle solutions, from concept design to detail engineering. As part of a hybrid team, you will collaborate with experienced mechanical engineers and cross-disciplinary experts on strategic projects including 3D modelling, design specifications, and mechanical calculations. You will apply British and international engineering standards while developing your professional expertise through mentoring and hands-on project involvement. This position suits recent graduates eager to launch their career in the nuclear sector within a supportive environment. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as projects may involve site visits and international travel. Security clearance and UK work permission are mandatory.
Vos missions
- Develop 3D models and transform concept design ideas into viable solutions through detail design
- Produce 2D detail design drawings in accordance with BS8888 standards
- Execute mechanical engineering calculations and analysis
- Collaborate with engineers and other disciplines on project deliverables
- Generate engineering specifications and technical documentation
- Participate in site visits and client meetings (project-dependent international travel)
- Work with British and international design standards and engineering codes
Profil recherché
- MEng (Hons) or MSc in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering
- Permission to work in the UK at employment start
- Willingness to undergo security vetting and obtain security clearance
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage in client meetings
- Problem-solving and critical analysis capabilities
- Effective teamwork and collaboration skills
Un plus si vous avez
- Experience with 3D CAD modelling tools
- Familiarity with mechanical handling or flow diagram design
- Knowledge of nuclear industry processes
- IMechE membership or professional development interest
