Voltalia is seeking an experienced High-Voltage Engineer to join our Porto operations team. This is a strategic role supporting our renewable energy projects across Europe, where you'll design, implement, and optimize high-voltage electrical systems that connect clean power generation to the grid. You will work on cutting-edge HV infrastructure projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliability, safety, and compliance with international standards. Your expertise will be critical in managing complex electrical systems, from initial design through commissioning and operational support. You'll contribute to Voltalia's mission of accelerating the global energy transition by ensuring our assets operate at peak efficiency and safety. This position offers exposure to diverse technologies and markets, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in HV systems design and performance. You'll leverage your technical knowledge in fault analysis, grid integration, and protection systems while adapting to evolving regulatory requirements across different markets. Based in Porto, you'll have access to a dynamic, international team committed to innovation in renewable energy infrastructure.
Vos missions
- Design and develop high-voltage electrical systems for renewable energy projects
- Perform fault analysis and implement protection schemes on HV networks
- Manage grid integration studies and compliance with international electrical standards
- Collaborate with EPC contractors and equipment suppliers on HV infrastructure
- Support commissioning and testing of high-voltage systems
- Provide technical guidance on O&M procedures for operational assets
Profil recherché
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in high-voltage system design or electrical engineering
- Strong knowledge of HV electrical systems, protection relays, and grid integration
- Proficiency with electrical design software and SCADA systems
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Experience with renewable energy projects (solar, wind) is essential
Un plus si vous avez
- Experience with IEC 61400 standards for wind energy
- Knowledge of power system simulation tools (PSS/E, DIGSILENT)
- Familiarity with European grid codes and regulatory frameworks
- Project management certification
