Education/Experience:
3–7 years of oil and gas land experience
Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Business, Petroleum Land Management, or related field preferred / special consideration may be given to applicants with a legal degree, provided they have 3-7 years of oil and gas land experience
Skills:
Experience in U.S. shale plays and unconventional resource development
Offshore Gulf of America experience preferred
Knowledge of LandVantage land system preferred / special consideration may be given to applicants proficient in SAP
Working knowledge of oil and gas leases, division orders, title analysis, joint operating agreements, farm-in/farm-out agreements, and other industry contracts
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams
The Land Advisor position operates in a fast-paced environment supporting onshore and offshore oil and gas assets. The position requires frequent interaction with assets, geoscience, legal, business development, regulatory agencies, landowners, and joint venture partners. Ability to manage multiple priorities and negotiate effectively in a dynamic (and potentially obscure) business environment is essential. Ability to influence decisions.
Activities:
Manage land functions for assigned assets, including lease acquisition, lease maintenance, title review, title curative, and landowner relations.
Negotiate and administer oil and gas leases, amendments, surface use agreements, rights-of-way, joint operating agreements, farm-in/farm-out agreements, and other land-related contracts.
Review title information, ownership reports, and title opinions to determine working interest, net revenue interest, and drilling ownership requirements.
Coordinate with Legal and Assets to resolve title defects and ensure timely support of drilling and development activities.
Monitor lease obligations, continuous development requirements, and contractual commitments to maintain Company land tenure.
Work closely with geoscience and operations teams to evaluate development opportunities and identify leasehold risks and opportunities.
Participate in acquisition, divestiture, and joint venture evaluations, including land due diligence and commercial assessments.
Process and evaluate AFEs, election notices, and other joint interest matters in accordance with applicable agreements.
Maintain productive relationships with mineral owners, working interest partners, operators, and external stakeholders.
Support budget development and forecasting for lease acquisition, title curative, and other land-related expenditures.
Protect and maintain Company land tenure through proactive management of leasehold and contractual obligations.
Ensure accurate ownership determinations and support timely execution of drilling and development projects.
Negotiate commercially sound land agreements that support Company objectives while appropriately managing risk.
Provide land-related recommendations and analysis to support asset management, development planning, and business decisions.
Maintain positive relationships with landowners, partners, operators, and regulatory authorities.
Vos missions
- Manage oil and gas land acquisitions and lease negotiations with landowners and joint venture partners
- Conduct title analysis and review contracts including leases, division orders, and joint operating agreements
- Support onshore and offshore asset operations through coordination with geoscience, legal, and business development teams
- Interact with regulatory agencies and manage compliance for oil and gas assets
- Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills
Profil recherché
- 3–7 years of oil and gas land experience
- Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Business, or Petroleum Land Management
- Working knowledge of oil and gas leases, division orders, and joint operating agreements
