Orano Federal Services LLC, a leading international player in the nuclear industry, is seeking a Mechanical/Structural Engineer to join its Federal Way office. You will play a key role in supporting the engineering, analysis, and licensing of nuclear transport packages while contributing to advanced reactor development and nuclear lifecycle activities. This position offers the opportunity to work on critical structural integrity challenges in the clean energy sector, performing static and dynamic analyses using industry-standard commercial software tools such as ANSYS and LS-DYNA. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including designers, project leads, thermal and nuclear engineers to ensure robust design solutions. Your work will directly support licensing submittals to the NRC and contribute to advancing nuclear technology for a sustainable energy future.

Vos missions

Perform static and dynamic structural analyses using ANSYS, LS-DYNA and hand calculations
Interface with designers and engineering disciplines to ensure structural integrity
Conduct finite element analyses on structures, systems and components
Provide design solutions and verification methods
Document structural analysis calculations and prepare Safety Analysis Reports
Participate in technical reviews and design reviews

Profil recherché

B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
0 to 3 years work experience in structural engineering or mechanical design
Working knowledge of FEA theory and application
Knowledge of mechanical engineering standards and techniques
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with SolidWorks or similar equipment design software

Un plus si vous avez

Experience with ANSYS and/or LS-DYNA
Experience in nuclear sector including licensing documents preparation
Knowledge of nuclear regulatory standards
