EDP Renewables seeks a Solar PV Technology Engineer to drive technical excellence across our global solar portfolio. Based in Houston, you will be the technical backbone of our Renewable Generation Assets platform, bridging business development, engineering, and operations to unlock value in solar PV investments. Your expertise in crystalline and emerging PV technologies will shape supplier strategies, validate investment opportunities, and optimize plant performance. You'll lead technical homologation processes, manage critical equipment selection decisions, and provide specialized engineering support across development, design, and operational phases. This role demands deep knowledge of performance drivers, degradation mechanisms, and bankability considerations—positioning you as a trusted advisor to executive teams and OEMs worldwide. You will directly impact EDPR's technological intelligence in renewable energy, ensuring our assets remain competitive and resilient in an evolving market.
Vos missions
- Provide technical support for Solar PV equipment technologies, ensuring technical robustness and market alignment across projects and regions
- Conduct early-stage technical due diligence and opportunity assessment for Business Development and M&A activities
- Act as technical focal point for suppliers and OEMs, managing supplier homologation and product compliance
- Support solar power plant engineering design across development, FEED, and detailed design phases
- Provide specialized technical support to Asset Operations teams to minimize downtime and enhance PV plant reliability
- Serve as technical interface for Engineering, BD, and M&A teams on risks, deviations, and equipment selection
Profil recherché
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Math, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent from accredited institution, or Master's degree in engineering
- 5+ years experience in Solar PV energy sector
- Strong knowledge of Solar PV module technologies including crystalline (PERC, TOPCon, HJT, back-contact) and emerging technologies
- Deep understanding of performance drivers, degradation mechanisms, and reliability risks
- Knowledge of bankability considerations and technical standards compliance
- Proven experience with supplier technical evaluation and homologation processes
Un plus si vous avez
- Experience with utility-scale solar project development
- Familiarity with international technical standards and certifications
- Background in M&A technical due diligence
- Knowledge of grid integration and interconnection requirements
