EDP Renewables is seeking a Solar Tech I to ensure optimal performance and safety at the Duff Solar Farm in Huntinburg, Indiana. This on-site role is critical to our mission of delivering reliable renewable energy at scale. You will manage daily operations, maintenance, and repairs of PV solar equipment while adhering to strict safety protocols including LOTO, Tail Board, and comprehensive documentation procedures. Your responsibilities span mechanical and electrical component repairs, preventive maintenance following OEM manuals, QA/QC inspections, and collaboration with our Remote Operations Control Center. You'll identify process improvements, conduct equipment and facility inspections for regulatory compliance, and act as a safety ambassador on site. This position demands technical precision, problem-solving capability, and unwavering commitment to environmental health and safety standards. You'll work with voltage testers, amp clamps, and computerized service reporting systems (SAP) while maintaining flexibility for on-call emergency response 24/7. Travel up to 10% to other US operational sites is required. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity for someone ready to make a tangible impact in renewable energy generation.
Vos missions
- Perform on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and equipment replacement at solar generation sites
- Complete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), Tail Board, and job-specific safety documentation
- Conduct mechanical and electrical component repair and replacement following OEM requirements
- Execute preventive maintenance in accordance with OEM maintenance manuals
- Perform QA/QC inspections and periodic equipment inspections with reporting
- Identify improvement opportunities and implement process enhancements through proper protocols
- Collaborate with Remote Operations Control Center as needed
- Document all work in SAP computer-based service reporting system
Profil recherché
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years relevant experience in PV Solar or related industry
- Valid driver's license with ability to operate motor vehicles
- Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (voltage testers, amp clamps)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work around low- and medium-voltage equipment
- Willingness to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and on short notice due to on-call scheduling
- Ability to respond to site emergencies 24/7
Un plus si vous avez
- Additional certifications in solar or electrical systems
- Experience with SAP or similar CMMS platforms
- Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations
