EDP Renewables seeks a dedicated Solar Tech II to manage on-site operations and maintenance at our Cantua Creek solar generation facility. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the reliable operation of solar field equipment, including inverters, tracker systems, transformers, and switchgear. You'll conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues using schematics, and perform component repairs in compliance with OEM requirements. This position demands a self-motivated professional capable of working independently while maintaining rigorous safety standards. You'll perform LOTO procedures, lead tailboard meetings, execute QA/QC inspections, and document all work in SAP systems. A key responsibility involves monitoring solar performance, diagnosing intermediate issues, and escalating complex problems to technical staff. You'll act as a safety ambassador, identifying hazards, implementing risk mitigation, and supervising contractor compliance. Regular travel between Mojave and Lucerne Valley is required. This role is critical to maintaining EDPR NA's operational excellence, ensuring environmental compliance, and supporting our Remote Operations Control Center objectives.
Vos missions
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of solar field equipment including inverters, tracker systems, transformers, and switchgear
- Perform mechanical and electrical component repair and replacement according to OEM requirements
- Execute LOTO procedures, tailboard meetings, and job-specific safety documentation
- Conduct preventive maintenance following OEM manuals and QA/QC inspections per SOP
- Troubleshoot complicated mechanical and electrical problems using schematics and diagnostic expertise
- Identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions using control management protocol
- Document all work performed using SAP computer-based service reporting procedures
- Supervise contractors on-site to ensure compliance with EDPR policies and procedures
Profil recherché
- Self-motivated, self-starter capable of working independently and safely
- Proficiency in reading electrical and mechanical schematics
- Experience with solar field equipment, inverters, and tracker systems
- Knowledge of LOTO procedures and electrical safety protocols
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components
- Compliance with environmental health and safety regulations
- Computer literacy for SAP documentation and electronic communications
- Valid driver's license for regular travel between Mojave and Lucerne Valley
