EDP Renewables is seeking an experienced Wind Technician III to join its Renewable Generation Assets team at Blue Canyon Wind Farm in Carnegie, Oklahoma. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems across multiple wind turbines, ensuring optimal operational performance and safety. This position demands advanced technical expertise in wind energy systems, including turbine power converters, high-voltage switching, and post-operational maintenance protocols. You will lead major corrective actions and component replacement projects while maintaining the highest safety standards, acting as a safety role model and identifying risks in the work environment. The role offers significant opportunities for technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and implementing process improvements. Your work directly contributes to sustainable energy generation and EDP's mission as a global renewable energy leader. You will manage complex diagnostics using specialized tools, coordinate equipment inspections, and maintain detailed service reports. With on-call scheduling requirements and the need for 24/7 emergency response capability, this position suits dedicated professionals committed to excellence in renewable energy operations and continuous improvement in wind farm performance.
Vos missions
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems in wind turbines
- Perform advanced-level diagnostics and implement solutions for component failures
- Lead major corrective actions, retrofits, and main component replacement projects
- Mentor lower-level technical staff and assist teammates in operational objectives
- Conduct QA/QC inspections and equipment inspections per SOPs
- Implement risk mitigations and provide recommendations to management
- Respond to site emergencies 24/7 as needed with on-call scheduling
- Document all work using computer-based service reporting procedures
Profil recherché
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in wind energy or related industry
- 3+ years of college or technical school education, or equivalent training and experience
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Experience with power plant operations, wind turbine systems, and turbine power converters
- Ability to work around low- and medium-voltage equipment safely
- Proficiency reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergencies on short notice
- Strong commitment to safety standards and procedures
