Voltalia, a leading independent power producer, is seeking a Center of Expertise (COE) Civil Engineer to join our Porto office. In this strategic role, you will serve as a technical expert and thought leader within our civil engineering discipline, driving innovation and excellence across our renewable energy portfolio. You will be responsible for developing best practices, standardizing engineering approaches, and providing technical guidance to project teams across multiple sites and geographies. This position bridges the gap between field operations and corporate strategy, ensuring that our civil infrastructure meets the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and cost-efficiency. As a COE Civil Engineer, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges in wind, solar, and hybrid energy projects. You will mentor junior engineers, conduct technical reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing design methodologies, reducing construction risks, and enhancing asset performance. This role offers exceptional visibility within the organization and opportunities to influence company-wide technical standards. You will work on cutting-edge renewable energy infrastructure projects, combining field experience with strategic impact. Based in Porto, you will coordinate with regional and global teams, ensuring technical coherence and operational excellence.
Vos missions
- Develop and implement civil engineering best practices and technical standards across projects
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to project teams and junior engineers
- Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Optimize civil infrastructure design methodologies for renewable energy projects
- Collaborate with EPC contractors and operations teams to resolve technical challenges
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge management
- Support project teams in risk assessment and mitigation strategies
Profil recherché
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in civil engineering, preferably in renewable energy
- Strong expertise in structural design and foundation engineering
- Proven experience leading technical teams or mentoring junior engineers
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Knowledge of international engineering standards and regulations
Un plus si vous avez
- Experience with wind, solar, or hybrid energy projects
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2)
- Experience with EPC project delivery models
