Join EDP Renewables' Renewable Generation Assets team as an Electrical Protection Technician and play a vital role in maintaining the reliability of our hydroelectric production centers across Portugal. In this full-time position based in Porto, you will be responsible for performing routine electrical protection tests, diagnosing complex faults, and ensuring optimal functioning of sophisticated power electronics and digital systems. You will oversee service contracts for the installation and commissioning of new protection systems, collaborate with senior engineers on fault resolution and system optimization, and participate in the study and alteration of protection settings. This role combines hands-on technical work—from laboratory equipment repairs to on-site diagnostics—with strategic involvement in project specifications and proposal evaluations. Your work directly impacts the safety, efficiency, and compliance of our renewable energy infrastructure. Vos missions
- Perform routine tests and troubleshoot electrical protection systems in hydro production centers
- Oversee service contracts including installation and commissioning of new electrical protection systems
- Collaborate with senior professionals to detect, analyze, and resolve electrical system faults
- Conduct preventive maintenance and specialized diagnostic tests on electrical protection equipment
- Interpret electrical diagrams, drawings, and technical instructions
- Participate in the study and alteration of protection settings and programming
- Prepare detailed work and intervention reports
- Support project managers in specifications preparation and proposal evaluation
Profil recherché
- Technical training (12th grade or Technical-professional courses in Electrical Installations, Electrotechnics, or Automation)
- 5-10 years professional experience in the electrical sector
- Advanced knowledge in power electronics and digital systems
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing)
- Valid driving license and availability to travel across Hydro Production Centers
- Strong collaboration, team spirit, and ability to handle pressure
Un plus si vous avez
- Level 5 Technological Specialization in Mechatronics or equivalent
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with SAP
