EDP Renewables seeks an experienced IT Remote Site Associate to drive telecommunications and IT infrastructure across our North American renewable energy projects. This pivotal role bridges field operations and corporate IT, ensuring seamless connectivity for wind, solar, and hydrogen development sites. You'll architect data circuit strategies, manage service provider relationships (AT&T, Hughes Satellite), and oversee installation of critical infrastructure spanning field development offices, construction sites, substations, and permanent O&M facilities. From MPLS primary circuits to backup satellite connections and VoIP systems, you'll design solutions that keep remote locations operational. This position requires hands-on site visits, vendor coordination, and technical problem-solving across multiple time zones and geographies. You'll interface with Project Managers, network engineers, and telecommunications providers to anticipate requirements, resolve billing disputes, and deploy network equipment. Your work directly enables EDPR NA's operational excellence and project delivery on renewable energy infrastructure.
Vos missions
- Define telecommunications and data circuit requirements for field development, construction, substations, and O&M facilities
- Coordinate site visits with Project Managers and local telecommunications providers to validate requirements and project timelines
- Monitor MPLS primary circuits via AT&T and backup satellite circuits via Hughes Satellite
- Oversee installation and turn-up of telecommunications and data circuits at remote locations
- Configure and deploy network equipment, PBXs, and VoIP systems across EDPR NA sites
- Interface between remote sites and IT team to resolve technical issues and billing disputes
- Collect vendor invoices, verify billing rates, and confirm service removals
- Research and implement alternative data connections (wireless broadband, cellular) when permanent circuits are delayed
Profil recherché
- 5+ years experience in telecommunications infrastructure, IT field operations, or remote site management
- Strong knowledge of MPLS, VoIP, satellite connectivity, and telecom service providers
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, designs, and network specifications
- Experience coordinating with multiple vendors and service providers
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships
- Willingness to conduct regular site visits and field assessments
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and project coordination
Un plus si vous avez
- Experience in renewable energy, wind, or solar project environments
- Familiarity with substation control building IT infrastructure
- Knowledge of PBX systems and enterprise VoIP deployments
- Project management or Agile methodology experience
