EDP Renewables seeks a Planning & Market Optimization Expert to drive trading strategy excellence across European energy markets. In this pivotal role within Global Energy Management, you'll develop and optimize middle & short-term trading strategies for DAM, IDM, XBID, and imbalance markets, maximizing revenue generation across Iberia and Rest of Europe. You'll lead market analysis, regulatory monitoring, and strategy performance reporting while coordinating with IT and Finance teams to deploy advanced bidding tools and optimization models. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of energy market operations through AI algorithms, digital transformation, and sophisticated market applications. Your work will directly impact PPA negotiations, asset optimization, and business planning across multiple geographies. Working in a hybrid model from Lisbon or Oviedo, you'll collaborate with Directors, Origination teams, and Back Office functions to drive data-driven decision-making in dynamic European energy markets.
Vos missions
- Develop and optimize middle & short-term trading strategies across European markets (DAM, IDM, XBID, AASS, IMB, Constraints)
- Perform market analysis and coordinate studies on market evolution, forecasting, and strategy performance
- Monitor regulatory changes across countries and analyze their impact on market operations strategy
- Coordinate strategy performance reporting and data handling for communication of Market Operations results
- Support PPAs and financial contracts analysis to establish impact on asset pricing and market strategies
- Develop Business Plan/Budget simulations and reports in cooperation with FP&A
- Support digitalization of optimization models, algo traders, AI algorithms, and market bidding applications
- Provide business analysis and specific studies for energy market operations (storage, imbalances, new geographies)
Profil recherché
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Industrial), Economics, Business with quantitative focus, or Data Science
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with proven market operations experience
- Knowledge of European electricity markets and market mechanisms (DAM, IDM, imbalance markets)
- Experience with trading strategy development and optimization modeling
- Advanced Excel, SQL, and business intelligence tools proficiency
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination abilities
- Regulatory and financial market analysis expertise
Un plus si vous avez
- Postgraduate degree or specialization in energy markets or optimization
- Experience with Python, R, or advanced programming languages
- Familiarity with market data platforms and bidding software
- Background in renewable energy or energy trading
- Knowledge of PPAs and bilateral contracts
