EDP Renewables seeks an experienced Regional HV Commissioning Lead to oversee critical substation electrical and control systems commissioning across multiple renewable energy sites in the Houston region. This strategic role ensures that complex high-voltage infrastructure meets rigorous project specifications, schedules, and quality standards. You will provide comprehensive field oversight, coordinate with site HV Electrical Inspectors, general contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver seamless commissioning execution. Your expertise in NEC codes, high-voltage safety protocols, and electrical theory will directly impact project timelines and operational excellence. This position offers the opportunity to shape the future of renewable energy infrastructure while managing multiple concurrent sites at various construction phases. Based primarily in Houston with regional travel, you will mentor site inspectors, maintain comprehensive documentation, stay current with industry standards, and drive continuous improvement across commissioning activities. Vos missions
- Oversee and inspect substation commissioning activities across multiple regional sites
- Train and guide 1-3 site HV Electrical Inspectors to ensure daily coverage and compliance
- Maintain effective communication with project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors
- Prepare daily progress reports and maintain comprehensive commissioning documentation
- Review contractor schedules and assist project teams in meeting objectives
- Ensure all activities comply with project documents, NEC codes, and specifications
- Monitor high-voltage safety protocols and personal protective equipment usage
Profil recherché
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent training with 10+ years high-voltage experience
- 7+ years managing substation commissioning activities
- Thorough knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes
- Strong understanding of high-voltage safety codes and electrical theory
- Proficiency with construction documents, blueprints, drawings, and protective relay settings
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and statistical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation abilities
- Visual acuity for field inspections and accurate measurements
